Sarah & Mark were married this May in Haymarket, Virginia. They had a beautiful church ceremony which was held at St. Paul’s Episcopal. All day I had “Chapel of Love” by The Dixie Cups stuck in my head. The church was exactly the type of “chapel” I always envisioned for the song.
Right before the ceremony began, the rain started coming down and Sarah with her Bridesmaids had to run to the church. Over the thundering downpour, Sarah and Mark exchanged their vows and were announced as husband and wife. They ran back down the aisle, threw open the doors and under the relentless rain, they took hands and escaped onto the dewy pavement.
Once we arrived at The Regency, the rain had stopped so we were able to take all of the bridal party portraits outside of this gorgeous venue. The rest of the day was spent celebrating with Mark & Sarah’s guests who shared a delicious dinner, toasts to the lovely couple, and hours on the dance floor. We said our goodbyes behind rows of sparkling lights as the newlyweds once again took hands to make their final exit.
